Mini’s Summer of Love

With spring/summer 2017 collections releasing we are spotting a mini LOVE trend. From statement I love you’s, feature hearts and graphic love hearts there are three amazing brands promoting Love this spring/summer for our minis.

Whether it is just saying I love you, a political agenda or just a heart on a dungaree we just LOVE this heart trend.

BeauLOves S/S17 collection ‘Summer of Love’ is all about saying ‘Darling i love you!’. Hand drawn all over prints and bold graphic placements sit together on a color palette of washed out chalk blue, coral, elephant grey, olive green, vanilla and ink black. The sun bleached colors and the stone wash treatment gives the garments a vintage, sun blanched feel. The muse himself, Beau has been painting hearts everywhere, painted brush strokes, I love you slogans and Love hearts. BeauLOves always delivers on easy-to-wear shapes with an edge that are mostly gender neutral. Fabrics include 100% cotton soft interlock fleece and jersey, knitwear, denim and woven cotton. There are more baby styles this season plus accessories of hats, bags and sunglasses.

South Korean Designers Joo Hee and Joo Hyun Park are the creators of children’s wear label AirFish.  AirFish consists of monthly capsule collections rather than seasonal collections and the latest collection called Paris is a modern capsule with avant-garde structured bows, and bell sleeves. The label’s signature oversized and asymmetrical ruffles are almost architectural in nature. Pop art influences the color palette of lemon yellow, bubblegum pink, crimson and fuchsia. The retro dungarees with flared bottoms have a striking heart appliqué on the front with frilled edging as well as a dress with bold shoulder cut-outs. Plains are teamed with summer bright gingham checks and ticking stripes. A bold where your heart on your front statement!

Caroline Bosmans spring/summer 2017 collection is called ‘Spray the Love’ which is a sporty collection promoting love and rejecting hate in all its forms. The look book photographed by Shari Guzzi has its usual Bosman edge celebrating her graphic collections. The message is evident with strength in print and color with shape playing an integral part. Collections are often humorous and play with the boundaries between boys and girls.  Fabrics include white sports net and airtex working in contrast to feminine lace brocade and dimensional surface ruffles.  Optical  white is the core color in this collection along with red, black and a soft pink. Tattoo template prints and dripping love hearts become bold all over prints on leggings, skirts and sweatshirts. Within the dimensional ruffles, a heart on the backs of jackets and vests reside with ‘reset world’ and ‘stop terror’ cut and paste collaged prints.
