Pitti Immagine Bimbo 89 Recap

Pitti Immagine Bimbo 89 gave us an exclusive look into the SS20 collections of 150 first-time participants in addition to well-loved brands! As always this trusted trade show pulled an impressive crowd of about 10,000 visitors, making it the largest and most prestigious trade show in children’s fashion. It was truly an inspiration focusing on a move towards ethical and experimental approaches to fashion with the goal of environmental sustainability.

It was a family affair complete with top names like Dolce & Gabbana Kids, Little Marc Jacobs, Billieblush, Monnalisa, Petit Bateau, Boss, and Herno Kids. Every year, the show is divided into various sections that embrace all walks of children’s fashion and lifestyle. “The Kid’s Lab!” Section introduced the most inventive approaches to children’s’ fashion divided into five subsections: ‘Kidfizz’, ‘#Activelab’, ‘The Nest’,‘EcoEthic’, and ‘Kid’s Evolution’. Amidst all of this excitement, Emporio Armani’s SS 2020 collection launched in a dedicated event at the Salla de la Scherma! And that’s not all! The Fortezza da Basso was filled with catwalk shows including never-before-seen collections from Pitti Immagine, Natural Angel, Manila Grace, Stefania, and many more! These brands channeled major 70’s and 80’s vibes with tye dye, crochet, and faded fabrics!

We sense a fashion forecast with military-esque clothing, romantic dresses, matchy-matchy bags, fringe details, reminiscent of Coachella, silk pajama-style fits, and oversized floppy hats from Manila Grace’s SS20 collection. Next summer, be on the lookout for asymmetrical and fridge hems, layered tulle, retro prints, as well as red and white stripes!
